As a rule of thumb: red means stop and act now (oil pressure, brakes, overheating), amber means get it checked soon (engine management, ABS, tyre pressure), and green or blue are just information. We confirm exactly which system is flagging and how urgent it really is.
It depends entirely on the light. Some are advisory; others — a red oil or temperature light, or a flashing engine light — mean you risk serious damage if you keep driving. If you are unsure, that is exactly what this check is for.
We can clear it, but the right way is to fix the underlying fault first — otherwise it comes straight back. Once the cause is repaired and verified, we clear the code and confirm the light stays off.
